And a nightmare because…
- Filling your classes with a bunch of awesome people is tricky
- Your income can be very unstable
- You know what people need but they just don’t seem to understand

Throw into that a pandemic with lockdowns and restrictions and it just adds another layer of beauty and hellish-ness to both sides.
Navigating The Roller Coaster
Franchises and chain gyms have teams of people to help them navigate all of these ups and downs. If you’re working for yourself however, it’s just you.
You’re in charge of marketing, quality control, customer service, product development, education, product delivery and research.
It’s a lot of hats for one trainer to wear.
It can be isolating and really confusing. You’re just one person, what is the best use of your time? How can you keep yourself motivated?
You might have tried reading all of the books or doing all of the courses (both of which are good ideas), but when it comes to actually doing those things where do you start?
I’ve been there and I’d like to help.
You Need A Strategy
I’ve been interviewing trainers for the upcoming Bootcamp Ideas podcast (more on that later this week) and I’ve been loving the conversations.
I’ve always had a gift for listening and providing perspective. I’m the guy people like to tell their problems to. Often followed by ‘I’m sorry, I don’t usually talk this much.’
But I love it. It lights me up to be able to listen, and when needed, offer advice or just ask a good question.
I’m opening up 2 or 3 hours each week from now until the end of the year for Strategy Sessions.
What’s a Strategy Session? It’s this in a nutshell:
Bring your problems, I’ll ask good questions and then together we’ll work out a strategy for what’s next.
It’s about helping you get clear about what steps to take next. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, confused or unmotivated right now, talking to me will help.
