This workout is an entry to this year’s Bootcamp Ideas Competition. It has been submitted by Wayne Venzlauskas from Sydney, Australia.
Mini Beep Test
Drill Length: 5 minutes
Drill Category: Finisher
Equipment needed: Markers, timer app (I use Seconds app), speaker
How it works:
Set up a 20m grid.
Bootcampers line up on one side of the 20m grid. On go, they run to the other side of the grid before the timer goes off again. They continue doing this until they can’t keep up with the timer any more.
The time is set to decrease in time each time, so players must run faster each time.
I set up 25 rounds, with the decrease in time as follows. Time is in seconds:
15-15-13-13-11-11-10-10-10-9-9-8-8-7-7-6-6-5-5-4-4-3-3-2-2
This is a real tester as bootcampers bust their butts to beat the test.
About Wayne:
I am from Sydney, Australia. I started bootcamps in 2016 and am slowly building my fitness community.
Kyle Wood created Bootcamp Ideas in 2010 when he was hunting around on the internet for workout ideas. He ran a successful bootcamp in Victoria, Australia and spends his spare time managing this site, adventuring (or lazying) with his wife and find new ways to make bootcamps even better.
What kind of programmable timer/app is do you use, so that you don’t have to stop and reset your timer/app while your clients wait?
Hi I’m confused on this drill, What is the starting time that you’re reducing the intervals down from ?
Hey Bryan,
It starts at 15 seconds. Second round is 15 seconds again, next round is 13 seconds. This is the full list:
15-15-13-13-11-11-10-10-10-9-9-8-8-7-7-6-6-5-5-4-4-3-3-2-2
