Tyre Overhead Squats
Kyle Wood created Bootcamp Ideas in 2010 when he was hunting around on the internet for workout ideas. He ran a successful bootcamp in Victoria, Australia and spends his spare time managing this site, adventuring (or lazying) with his wife and find new ways to make bootcamps even better.
A squat with the tyre held overhead.
Teaching points:
Get feet set up for squat. Press the tyre overhead – glutes on, core on, spine neutral. Keep feet flat on the ground as you come down into the squat. Thinking about opening your hips as you lower into the squat can really help. Elliot Hulse once said something like ‘Expose yourself. Expose yourself on every squat’. It always makes me chuckle – and is useful to think about.
