Oh wow – it’s August already! How are things going for you and your sessions? One of the things that I have really appreciated about being in the BootCraft community over the past 18 months is the way we have all been able to bounce ideas off each other – from tweaking our sessions for physical distancing, to getting great tricks for virtual workouts – and I haven’t found myself stuck for ideas at all, no matter what level of restrictions I find myself in.
It’s been a busy month over at BootCraft (our ever growing database of drills and workouts for trainers such as yourself – and a thriving Community of heart-centered trainers from around the world). This month we’ve got a bunch of new workouts to share with you, a wrap up of July’s ‘Workouts of the Week’ and some highlights from the BootCraft community.
And, in exciting news, we’ll hit publish on our 1000th drill in BootCraft in August – and I hope this post provides a little taster of what those drills can include for you.
1. Previously on BootCraft…
July’s drills have been a collective effort from our team of Master Crafters – a group of trainers from all over the globe who submit a great variety of workouts each and every month. Can you guess how the drills would be from their names?
- You Decide – Drop It Off!
- It’s 2 Hot
- Cardio Mix Up
- Add it Up, Work it Out
- Walk the Walk
- Full Body Burn
- Square Drill
- Partner Resisted Sprints
- Tennis Ball Sprints
- Circuit Slayer
- After The Roll
- Fire It Up!

2. August on BootCraft
I’d like to introduce you to our team of Master Crafters – trainers from Canada, Australia, the UAE, the USA and the UK!
These trainers provide a variety of drills from their own archives to BootCraft each month, so that ‘Crafters (that’s what we call our BootCraft subscribers) can keep abreast of what is happening around the world – and isn’t that so important now, more than ever! It also means that no matter what style of session delivery you find yourself having to adapt to, we have drills in BootCraft to suit – from online/virtual, to physically distanced face to face sessions and to ‘regular’ face to face sessions.
In August, one of these drills will be our 1000th drill! These include:
- Double Down
- Replace With The Ace
- Cardio, Core + Upper Body HIIT
- Box It Out
- Eye Of The Tiger
- Share The Pain
- Dice Workout
- Twister Tabata Warm Up
- It’s Simply Tough
- Killer Kettlebell Circuit
- Hardcore AMRAP Add On
And four more drills, yet to be decided on.
3. Workout Of The Week
WOW – these are one of the new features to BootCraft, and we’ve had really great feedback on them.
Kyle posts these weekly ‘done-for-you’ workouts into the BootCraft Community (the private, online space where our ‘Crafters hang out) and are perfect for when you need a high-quality session on the fly. Kyle explains the workouts for our ‘Crafters in a video, and goes into detail about why particular drills were chosen, how to adapt and what the drill can look like in real life.
He’s put together quite a few now, and he’s even given each workout a cool name – we’ve had The Chipper Fitness Test, Leg + Core Builder, Army Bootcamp, Need For Speed, 10 x 5, Big Oval Circuit, Decathlon 2.0, HAMRAP, Core Countdown and 1 Tonne Chipper. That’s ten ‘done-for-you’ workouts, ready to go!
Here’s an example of one of his explanations:
4. The BootCraft Community
Alright, so I’ve mentioned the BootCraft Community a bit now. But what exactly is it?
Well, for me (as a sole-trading, small business Personal Trainer), it’s a bit like working in a big gym where I get to collaborate with the most amazing group of like-minded trainers. It’s a private, online community available to all our ‘Crafters – a place where we can share our favourite workout ideas (we’ve all been sharing our favourite Olympic themed workouts, Debra shared a great Compound Strength workout and Mike shared a Team Pacemaker drill), ask ANY questions (we’ve helped Niki with advice for training after surgery, while helping Matt restructure his bootcamp pricing) and share our wins (like Yvonne, who has been nominated for a national award!)
We think the BootCraft Community are pretty amazing – their generous sharing of ideas and advice adds so much value to what is already a comprehensive resource.
So before I leave you, I’d just really quickly like to give you the link to have a look at the BootCraft information page – to see more for yourself, or to share it with another trainer who you think might like to have a look.
That’s it for this month. Like I said at the start, I hope things are going well for you and your sessions!
