Bootcamp Ideas Boost Issue #2
What starts as a means to an end, quickly turns into an obsession. An obsession to plan the perfect bootcamp workout.
But it’s a worthy obsession. After all, if everything we do in our bootcamps is marketing, from the way we present ourselves online to the message we send to an absent client, then the actual workout we choose to plan and run is definitely part of our marketing.
Our workouts are the main way that people interact with and connect with our brand. It’s not your latest Instagram post or the poll you posted in your members Facebook group. Social media has done a great job of distracting business owners from what actually matters, which is: Are you selling a fantastic product? Something that people will talk about. And for us trainers, that means our workouts.
When someone comes to one of our sessions here are some of the things that might be going through their head:
- Will the other members be nice?
- Will the trainer be nice or a drill sergeant?
- What if the workout is too hard?
- What if the workout is too easy?
- Will there be lots of standing around and waiting again today?
- Is it going to rain? Will I get wet?
- I hope this doesn’t take too long as I’ve got lots to do today.
- I can’t really be bothered today.
- I hope there is no running, I keep coming last.
An amazing bootcamp plan caters for as many of these concerns as possible. Bring people’s energy up with a Sidebottom icebreaker. Make sure you’ve planned a few different levels so that everyone can work at their capacity. Plan and prepare so that you can transition smoothly between drills. Make sure you’re having fun with it and they will too.
