The short answer: Yes
An expert is simply someone who knows more about a topic than someone else.
It doesn’t mean that person is the go-to authority in the world. It doesn’t mean that person knows everything there is to possibly know about that subject. It just means they know enough to help someone else who’s still in the dark.
The second question I would like to ask you is: Are you behaving like an expert?
An expert generously shares their knowledge. They seek out other experts to increase their own knowledge. They run workshops, write blogs, write books, host podcasts, get interviewed on podcasts, publish videos, teach clients and lead their community.
And in return people give them their trust and attention which in turn leads to more clients and success.
This is a much scarier but better way to market than relying on gimmicks and quick fixes.
My last question for you is: If you are indeed an expert (which you are), why aren’t you being more generous sharing what you know?
P.S. If you’re feeling ready to step just a little outside of your comfort zone and start growing your fitness business and the trust people have in you and your business, then I’d like to show you how.
I’m running a free online workshop next week called the Fitness Is My Passion Masterclass. Come join us, if you can’t make it, sign up anyway so I can send you the recording afterwards.
Kyle Wood created Bootcamp Ideas in 2010 when he was hunting around on the internet for workout ideas. He ran a successful bootcamp in Victoria, Australia and spends his spare time managing this site, adventuring (or lazying) with his wife and find new ways to make bootcamps even better.
