Since September last year I’ve been working on a new podcast for Bootcamp Ideas.
Our other podcast, The Dale & Kyle Show, has drifted away from talking about bootcamp specific stuff as it’s moved more towards being a personal podcast about Dale and my experiences in business and life.
But I missed interviewing other trainers and talking shop about bootcamps.
How It Came About
Before the pandemic, getting members of the Bootcamp Ideas community to jump on a video call with me was often challenging. But one positive side effect of pandemic is that everyone now knows how to Zoom.
I took advantage of this and started to spend time meeting and speaking with readers through out 2020 and 2021.
I was humbled by these conversations. So many trainers were challenged with new obstacles in their businesses and personal lives. But as I spoke to more and more trainers I began to see common threads and I knew that sharing them might help the Bootcamp Ideas readers and listeners feel a little less alone with the obstacles they are facing.
Plus, some of these trainers had overcome (or gone around) their obstacles and I wanted to share that knowledge too.
Thus, Everything Bootcamp was created.
Over these first few week’s I’ll begin with conversations of how trainers have survived, thrived and pivoted through the pandemic.

Hey, it’s Kyle Wood.
Welcome to Everything Bootcamp.
Everything Bootcamp is for people who have a passion for sharing fitness with others.
Let me go back and explain what I mean by that. 12 years ago, I started the website bootcampideas.com. I was running group fitness sessions for myself and for other people, and I was feeling isolated and like I wanted to connect with other trainers.
But I was also knows about connecting with, you know, my competitors in the area. So I sent out a bit of a bat signal to trainers elsewhere, further out in the world in other countries, by sharing a weekly workout on bootcamp ideas and over time sure enough people sold the bat signal and they started turning up.
And that’s really the thing. Bootcamp Ideas has given me a lot over the years, but the best thing it’s given me is a community of amazing human beings who call themselves group fitness trainers on this show. I’ll be introducing you to some of these people as they have a lot to share from. Starting their own bootcamp sessions completely from scratch to moving from the corporate world into the fitness industry, or, you know, moving from being sort of a general trainer to like a specific trainer or a higher level trainer to even writing a book on all of the things that they learned about as a fitness professional over the years, putting that all in one place to share with the world.
The goal of this podcast is to give you real stories from real trainers.
One’s who are out in the industry, training people, trying to make it work, growing their business, going through this pandemic as well. What’s working for them. What’s not. We can all learn from each other. I’m a big believer in all ships rising together. So I hope you like the show.
The first episode is dropping on Monday, January 24th.
Please pass this on to any trainer friends you have, to people you work with. The more you can spread the word, the more we can continue to grow this community and help each other. Looking forward to sharing these episodes with you.
P.S. Big shout out to Samantha Marshall for coming up with the name ‘Everything Bootcamp’.
Kyle Wood created Bootcamp Ideas in 2010 when he was hunting around on the internet for workout ideas. He ran a successful bootcamp in Victoria, Australia and spends his spare time managing this site, adventuring (or lazying) with his wife and find new ways to make bootcamps even better.
Omg! I can’t wait!!!! Can it be the 24th already, please!?
I’m looking forward to it too 🙂
