Time to break out your old copy of Candy Land from the games cupboard!
This workout idea is from Carrie Hoshaw of Camp Rhino Boise.
The thing I love about this workout is that even if you don’t have a copy of Candyland, you can tweak this and run it as a fun, yet generic workout. Or you make up your own board like in the Monopoly Bootcamp Workout.
Candy Land Bootcamp
Workout Length: 60 minutes
Equipment Needed: 1 or 2 Candyland game boards and cards, markers for each person or teams of people on the board. Equipment needed for exercises you choose.
Preparation
Make up 6 exercises for each color of the rainbow. Plus 1 exercise for the characters on the board and 1 for the licorice spots.
How to Play
Each person or team draws a color card, moves their marker to that color on the board, then looks to see what the first exercise is associated with that color. They perform the exercise. Then, they return to the board and draw again.
The second time they land on the same color, they perform the second exercise on that colors list and so on.
If they pull a double color card from the deck, move two forward and perform double the exercise.
Characters and licorice spots have a special exercise, like a 1 minute plank.
Have teams start over if they finish before others. At the end of your group’s time any teams who won the game choose an exercise for everyone to perform and how many reps.
