This month marks BootCraft’s 3rd birthday. Happy Birthday BootCraft!
From a database with just 33 workout ideas and a couple hundred members, we’ve now grown to just shy of 600 workout ideas and over 800 members!
This is thanks to all of the amazing Featured Designers (30+ of them) who contribute to our growing database. Thanks also to our Editor, Lizelle Din, who deciphers workouts that come to us in trainer’s shorthand and creates the amazing workout diagrams.
And of course thanks to the trainers who use BootCraft for helping make such an awesome resource and community.
If you’re not a member of BootCraft already, here’s what a typical month looks like for us:
New Featured Designer: April Wright
Here’s a little about this month’s designer:
April is a wife and mother of two beautiful girls. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a BS in Kinesiology and started as a Fitness Director at a small gym in Corinth, TX for 12 years before starting April Wright PT.
April Wright PT believes our bodies are a gift and should be treated that way. Through Boot Camps, Small Group Training, and Personal Training, clients achieve greater success in how they feel, what they can do, and the example they set for those around them.
April is sharing 12 drills with us this month:
- Burpee Run
- Egg Hunt
- Squat Press Row
- Weighted Strength Circuits
- Reverse Ladder Circuit
- 3 IN 1
- Kettle Laps
- Total Body Tabatas
- Bootcamp At The Zoo
- Power Band Runs
- It Gets Easier as it Gets Harder
Monthly theme – birthday workout ideas
As it’s BootCraft’s third birthday, I thought we should check out some birthday themed workout drills.
Celebrating a long time camper’s birthday with a special workout (that’s more creative than 37 burpees for your 37th birthday) is a great way to make a camper feel important and recognised. It’s also a good opportunity to do something fun that will help build that sense of community in your group.
Here are some great birthday drills to try out:
- Hot Potato*
- Nokia 3210 Workout* – using their birth date
- Rob The Nest*
- 30th Birthday Bootcamp*
- Assorted Birthday and Milestone Ideas*

Kyle Wood created Bootcamp Ideas in 2010 when he was hunting around on the internet for workout ideas. He ran a successful bootcamp in Victoria, Australia and spends his spare time managing this site, adventuring (or lazying) with his wife and find new ways to make bootcamps even better.
