As trainers we want to keep our workouts as fresh and interesting as possible. Giving awesome workouts is something that we can easily control and is a great way to grow your business (that’s kinda the whole point in this website).
When keeping things fresh you have two options:
- introduce new equipment on a regular basis
- come up with exciting and innovative new drills
The first option is great but can end up being fairly expensive. When you are just starting out you often don’t have the capital to buy a whole bunch of equipment. This is when you have to come up with awesome drills yourself.
Filling your workouts with awesome drills is a great habit to get into anyway. There is enough cookie cutter programs out there already, as bootcamp owners we have the power to be something different.
That’s why I wanted to review Sean McCrory’s new ebook, because he’s sharing workouts that are all about being creative with the drills. In fact, his ebook only requires your client’s bodyweight.
Bodyweight Workouts
Easy to Navigate
Sean’s divided the book into three different sections:
- Mix & Match – create your own workout using the 15 done-for-you circuits and exercises from the library
- Full Workouts – see Sean’s Top 5 workout combinations
- Games Sessions – this has 10 full workouts that have a game/scoring element to them
Step by Step Instructions
Each workout is written in a simple step by step format with the option to use your own exercises or he also has recommended exercises (with links to videos) at the bottom of each workout.
Sean told me he kept each workout to just a page so that you can either print it out and go or so when looking at it on a tablet you don’t need to keep scrolling back and forth.
Bodyweight Exercise Library
Sean is working on a growing library of bodyweight exercises (a great resource for your own workouts too). It’s at 200 exercises and growing. You get access to these through links from inside the ebook.
Design
The design is clean and mostly easy to read. I found the font on some of the introduction pages not to my liking but maybe that’s just my personal taste.
I can’t really talk though as my early ebooks were just word documents saved as PDFs. I’m sure as Sean creates more work he will get better at it.
The Verdict
To wrap up what you get:
- 10 game based workouts
- 5 multi-circuit based workouts
- 15 mix and match workouts
- 200 bodyweight exercise ideas
- All drills are designed around bodyweight only
That’s pretty awesome value for less then $25. This is a great contribution to any trainers collection and it only loses 1 star for the design which certainly shouldn’t hold you back from getting access to those ideas.

Kyle Wood created Bootcamp Ideas in 2010 when he was hunting around on the internet for workout ideas. He ran a successful bootcamp in Victoria, Australia and spends his spare time managing this site, adventuring (or lazying) with his wife and find new ways to make bootcamps even better.
