Welcome back readers, voters and contestants!
It’s been a whirlwind of activity on the Bootcamp Ideas blog and our BCI: Ask Facebook group.
Three weeks ago 27 entries were and then we began testing. Today I’m very excited to announce and congratulate this year’s winners!
Thank you to everyone who entered and voted and tried the workouts and got enthusiastic about the competition. You made it a lot of fun!

Grand Prize Winners
On Monday myself and the judges had a final look over the top voted workouts to pick our favourite.
In the end, the decision came down to two things, client enjoyment and ease of use. The winning drills stood out in both respects.
So without further ado, I’m pleased to announce this year’s winners as…
Best Warm Up Drill: Freeze Frenzy Fun by April Wright
April’s drill showed great use of partner work, it was simple and easy to follow and we can see lots of variations being made from it. Well done April!
Best Finisher Drill: Wall of Wobble by Leslie Suess
It was really hard to pick a winner in this category as there were so many awesome finishers. Leslie’s drill won for it’s popularity, simple nature (2 seconds to get everyone working) and team-like elements. Well done Leslie!
Kyle’s Crafty Crouton Award
This award was for a drill picked by yours truly. I’ll was looking for a crafty, clever, interesting, new drill or a new take on something old. If it’s weird and wonderful it’s a promising winner.
This year’s winner is:
Burpee-Dice by the Dashboard Light by Theresa Prior
I loved the pun name and the use of dice and partner work. Well done Theresa!
Random Draw
The Random Draw is not based on votes or judging, instead as the name suggests it’s drawn randomly giving everyone who enters a chance to win.
It’s a big deal putting your stuff out there to be judged by others so I wanted to reward this kind of courage! I drew the name out of a hat on the Facebook Live above.
The winner is:
Nick Karagiannis who entered The Dirty ½ Dozen
Nick wins 6 months of free BootCraft plus my book bundle and a shirt.
Congratulations to everyone who won! If you were an accepted entrant I’ll be in touch via email this week with your prize (and award badge).
Special Thanks
There are lots of people who’ve helped make this happen who I wanted thank and share with you here.
Thanks to everyone who tested and voted. I heard some of you would have liked more time to test so next year I’ll make the testing time longer.
Thanks to everyone who entered the competition. It takes guts to put your stuff out there so give yourself a pat on the back.
Thanks to our sponsors for donating prizes. I only sought out quality sponsors whose stuff I’ve used before myself. Please take the time to check out their websites:
- Dale Sidebottom from Fitness Games Zone for donating prizes.
- The guys at PTminder.
- Greg Faxon, coaching expert.
- Rick and the team from Iron Edge.
Thanks to Lizelle Din who created the award graphics which you can swipe and use on your website if you are a winner.
Thanks also to Roxanne, Rosie, Lori, Kirstyn, Maree and Jane for your feedback and input.
Kyle Wood created Bootcamp Ideas in 2010 when he was hunting around on the internet for workout ideas. He ran a successful bootcamp in Victoria, Australia and spends his spare time managing this site, adventuring (or lazying) with his wife and find new ways to make bootcamps even better.
